5: Seawall Campground, Acadia National Park, Maine
Seawall Campground is situated inside of the beautiful Acadia National Park. Located on the western side of Mount Desert Island on the Maine Coast, visitors get the sense of tranquility and peace with each visit. With the west side of the Island being considered the "quiet side" of Mount Desert Island, camp goers feel at ease while enjoying its pleasant scenery and historical sites. The park is also home to various recreational activities including biking, canoeing and hiking. You'll find a variety of delightful and peaceful hiking trails in this area. Also located on this side of the Island is Echo Lake, which is ideal for fishing, kayaking, picnics, fishing and swimming. There's something for everyone at the Seawall Campground. This includes mild walks against the jagged coastline and mountain hikes. All campground sites at Seawall are wooded and within walking distance of the breathtaking ocean (within a 10-minute walk).
