This city rarely does anything small, including New Year’s Eve fireworks in Vegas. It is second only to the ball drop in Times Square as the Strip closes for traffic beginning at 6:00 p.m. At this point, Las Vegas Boulevard is transformed into the world's largest street fest, ending with more than 80,000 fireworks bursting into life.

One of the best New Year's Eve Parties in Vegas takes place in Margaritaville, the all-encompassing tropical paradise made famous by Jimmy Buffet’s song.
This is Vegas’ own tropical island version which starts at 9:00 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. The Margaritaville Restaurant can be found on the second and third floors of the Flamingo Hotel and provides a great view of the Vegas fireworks.

Celebrating New Year in Las Vegas doesn't have to be a loud affair. Off-the-Strip Red Rock Casino serves a New Year's Eve dinner from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with an open bar with DJ after 9:00 p.m.

The Downtown New Year's Eve Fireworks in Vegas are famous. Fewer visitors, however, know that the Plaza Hotel has its own private fireworks and rooftop viewing with champagne as a part of its New Year's Eve package. This is available only to registered guests.
