Only 30 miles from the Salt Lake International Airport, Snowbird in a winter/summer resort in Little Cottonwood Canyon, Utah. Snowbird is famous for winter powder skiing, and also features hiking, mountain biking, fishing, sight-seeing, and vacationing.

Alyeska Resort is a year-round facility offering vacationers lodging at Hotel Alyeska, where there is also the ski resort. Plus it's only 40 miles from the airport. They offer all kinds of winter activities, including ski school as well as heli-skiing.
Ski season is between November and April, with many exciting special events such as opening day, the Ski Patrol Auction in December, Torchlight Parade and Fireworks on New Year's Eve, several skiing competitions throughout the season, and the Spring Carnival to end the season in April.
