1: "O" by Cirque du Soleil

Cirque du Soleil has a few shows happening in Vegas. Four of which will appear on this list. We’ll kick off with "O". This water-themed circus event can be found only at the Bellagio. As with all Cirque du Soleil shows, this is more than some of the best circus performers in the world playing their trade.

There's a story that connects all the beautiful set pieces together. A young Sicilian boy travels into a mystical realm, where his hopes, dreams, and fears play out. If you can only see one show in Vegas, make it this one. It is an absolute spectacle, and you’ll struggle to find anything else like it. Swimmers. Boats. Acrobats. You name it, this show has it.

2: Blue Man Group at Luxor

Blue Man Group at Luxor

The Blue Man Group, held in a specially constructed theater in The Luxor, has been heralded as one of the best family shows in Vegas. If you’ve kids who are more sensitive to sound, it might not be ideal. Blue Man Group is a musical show like no other. It will overload your senses with visuals and music.

While a lot is going on with Blue Man Group, the real highlight is that nearly all the music is created on makeshift instruments. Think cereal boxes and plastic piping turned into percussive instruments. In the specially designed theater, Blue Man Group makes you feel like you’re part of the show. There is a reason why the show has worked its way across the world – it is perfect.

3: Absinthe at Caesars Palace

Absinthe at Caesars Palace

Absinthe is billed as the raunchiest show in Las Vegas, so maybe not one for the kids. In a custom circus tent opposite Caesars, Absinthe is an intimate circus performance...with a difference. It is hilarious. Death-defying stunts, humor, and lots of audience interaction. It has actually been called the greatest show in Las Vegas history by many people, which is really saying something considering there are some amazing shows in the city.

KA by Cirque du Soleil can be found at the MGM Grand. While just as great as the previously mentioned ‘O’, KA couldn’t possibly be any more different. Water won’t be at the heart of this show; instead, you'll find fire. Lots of action will be happening up in the air too, with specially constructed platforms that will delight and amaze you. Martial arts are a true highlight here, but Cirque du Soleil can weave mesmerizing action into beautiful storytelling that will keep you coming back for more.

5: Penn & Teller at Rio

Penn & Teller at Rio

Penn & Teller, world-famous magicians, are said to have one of the best magic shows in Vegas, and we are inclined to agree. In their custom theater at the Rio, Penn & Teller put on a fantastic magic show. David Copperfield is known for his big illusions, and while Penn & Teller can do much the same, their experience is much more intimate. Smaller tricks, but ones that will blow your mind, mixed with a ton of humor. There is a reason why these guys have been headlining in Las Vegas longer than pretty much everybody else.

This event can be found in the Treasure Island Hotel and Casino. It is actually the longest-running show in Cirque du Soleil's history, having run for over 20 years now. This show needed a theater built specifically for it, so the only place you’ll ever be able to see Mystère is in Vegas. If you’re looking to hear fantastic music played on Taiko drums, see fantastic dances, and some of the best acrobatics in the world, then this is the show you need to see.

This Michael Jackson-inspired show can only be found at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino. Performers for Cirque du Soleil perform acrobatics, dances, and all sorts of other stunts to the music of Michael Jackson. If you’re a fan of the King of Pop (who isn’t?), then this show is a must-see. Tickets aren’t going to be cheap, but you’ll be creating memories of a lifetime when you head here.

Can’t decide what type of act you want to see? Well, why not go to V The Ultimate Variety Show, which offers a little bit of everything. It has been touted as one of the most fun shows in Vegas, and for good reason, too. Since opening the current production in 2004, V has managed to find some of the best comedians, dancers, acrobats, and musicians in the world.

All of them have been successfully meshed together in an act you won’t forget. One of the great things is that you’ll never see the same show twice. Well, you shouldn’t do. The show has a ton of different performers, with new ones switching in regularly. You can find V at the V Theater at Planet Hollywood.

9: Carrot Top at Luxor

Love his humor or not, there is no denying that Carrot Top is one of the top comedians in Las Vegas. His witty one-liners, combined with prop comedy (which will often have you face-palming at the cringe), are more than guaranteed to get a few laughs from people. Alright. Carrot Top doesn’t have the best jokes in the world, but his stage presence is captivating, and there is a reason why he has managed to score a residency at the Luxor. Nobody does prop comedy anymore, well, at least not in the way Carrot Top does. Catch his show.

10: David Copperfield at MGM

David Copperfield at MGM

While a few magicians are performing in Las Vegas, if one act is synonymous with the city, it’ll be David Copperfield. Found at the David Copperfield Theater at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino, he has been called the best illusionist in history.

Watch David Copperfield tackle some tremendously large illusions in this stunning theater. Be mind blown at the scale of everything, although, strangely, Copperfield has a knack for making even the largest of illusions still feel intimate. Tickets do sell out quickly here but if you can grab them, you’ll see why David Copperfield has become a Las Vegas staple.
