The town is the second largest canyon in the country. It lies in the heart of Texas Panhandle. The place is famous for its Palo Duro Canyon State Park. The park was opened in 1934. The canyon is 20 miles wide, 120 miles long with the depth of 800 feet. The place was discovered by the early explorers of Spain. They named the place as “Palo Duro” which means hard wood in Spanish.

Port Isabel is a famous coastal town in Texas. The place is an attraction for the tourists due to its beautiful views and access to local beaches. The place has a famous light house with the historical significance which was built in 1852. The Texas International Fishing Tournament is conducted every year in Port Isabel. According to the census in 2010, the population of the town is around 8.766. It is located close to another town called Fulton due to which it is sometimes referred as “Rockport-Fulton”. The place is the attraction for tourists because it has a lot of recreational areas which includes parks, beaches, boating and bird watching. The place has a famous beach named as Texas first Blue Wave Beach. It is the cleanest beach in the town. Glass containers, dogs and pets are not allowed on the beach.
